DAAD furthers the international aspects of German academic, cultural, and science policies and supports the international relations of German universities through:

Study Scholarships for Fine Arts, Architecture, Music, and Dance, which aim to provide students in the fields of fine art, design, film, music, choreography, and architecture an opportunity to complete a course of additional studies with¬out earning a formal degree at a German university or institution. Applicants should have a good command of German.

Study Scholarships, which provide applicants in all disciplines the opportunity for a year of independent study to complete postgraduate degree or master’s degree courses and obtain a degree at a German university. Preference is given to applicants who have been invited by a faculty member at a German university to study at a particular university department.

Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE), which give students in the fields of biology, chemistry, earth sciences, engineering, and physics the chance to spend a summer working with research groups at universities and top research institutions across Germany. Must be a current full-time student who has completed at least two years of a degree program in a major indicated above. No previous knowledge of German language is required.
